Last night was indeed a night filled with alot to take in. Our tutor Colene, is indeed a very organised and structured lecturer.
We looked at website templates, font templates, aswell as Adobe CS3 or 4( not to sure) Dreamweaver which is the programme suggested to be used for working on our website templates......
Today the school finally organised to have those students doing - blog, websites, and anything web based to meet out tutor. Amazingly we realised we only have 5 weeks lefts to get the basic down for this artifact. We were directed to W3Schools.com to gain a little insight on the basics. We meet her again on the recently scheduled classes, on Wednesday.
Also tonight I received the pictures on a cd from my visit to Bro Valentino's place last two weeks.
Tonight I am going to certainly say a small pray especially for this artifact.
Again another productive night in class> I think I am safely heading in the direction I intended when it comes to form and content for this assignment.

Finally it transpired. The need for photos to add some sense of connectivity for the visitor to this website I got pictures taken of the calypsonian.
There was a bit of a delay to get the morning started as getting there was a few hours well. My classmate and I got a lift to Sande Grande from another dear friend of mine named Marcus. On our arrival we quickly did our greetings.The smile on his face said he was really pleased with meeting us for this purpose(giving him and the armform a voice).
I dont have a total figure as yet but tons of pictures were taken today. Even an unrecorded informal chit chat took place, with questions and observations coming from both myself and Trixie.
My day was indeed productive and informative. Cant wait to begin this artifact for real.

We viewed a film on Wednesday on Dadaism. Very interesting piece. As I mentioned to the lecturer, dadaism reminds me alot of Situationist and their beliefs and practices. If carefully thought about I may implement it in some way on my artifact.
Still awaiting the dates of our tutorial for the fansite...eagerly awaiting, as I notice time is certainly creeping up on me.
Well today I called Bro Valentino again and he agreed to allow me into his home next week Saturday(God Willing), to conduct the chit chat...and take some photos. He is always so willing to speak to you.
I also booked a date with the artist to guide me though the drawings needed for this artifact....I am feeling it coming off well.

However I am not dismayed...there is always a plan B. So today I will organise a meeting with the person to guided me through the sketching process for the art I would like to be revealed on this fansite for Bro Valentino. I am so excited about this project. I am start tomorrow writing out the songs for the artiste..maybe the more familiar one....what a task!!

Why was the fear factor mentioned as part of subject of this blog? Because it does exsist. At present my biggest worry is actually getting(who has not been introduced to us at yet) the tutor the school has promised us will come to teach those interested in creating a web page/fansite(as in my case). With the inclusion of other intense assignments and committments it is a bit worrying to be a this stage within this semester.
Anyway I am currently still working on the songs for the artiste and have yet to meet with him to conduct a small photo session. I pray it all happens soon....

Well after Tuesday's class I have come to the realization I have so much more elements that can and should be added to this artifact, to attain the required. So when I got in last night and played most of Bro Val songs to get the feel of all his messages in song. From Stay up Zimbawe, to Life is a Stage.
Also I want to add another element of Alternative Publishing like drawings(not the best asset I possess).
I love doing this project especially seeing i have such love for the artiste and his contributions to society(in song especially)
Hopefully pretty soon I can get the opprtunity to head to S. Grande to meet the artiste
Well it has begun.. My assignment/artifact was not a difficult one to come up with, especially with the constant reminded of its Alternative Publishing style and elements or content.
After receiving great reviews from my prior final year project(A 30 min Radio Documentary on the Calypsonian Brother Valentino) of the HND Dipolma, I thought why not expand on the piece (which encompasses elements of Alternative Publishing- as such a piece has never been done on a Calypsonian in Trinidad and Tobago).
Currently I am leaning more so to doing a Fan-zine on the artiste, however honestly another part of me is drawn towards a Bro V website. I may just stick with the 1st idea.
This zine will contain, information on the legend, photos of the most recent visit to his home(showing displays of his awards and other congratulatory items), it may also contain an area where other fan or even fellow colleagues can tap in and place comments etc pertaining of course to the Calypsonian.
Anyway it is late and tomorrow's another day...so until my next entry(which may just be tomorrow)..this is where I say good night.
